What is the YES-Europe Podcast?

After two successful seasons – already produced and available on Spotify, the podcast “Talk Energy With YES-Europe” starts into season three. Similar to the previous seasons, the podcast season will be formed by a series of audio episodes where YES-Europe volunteers interview invited guests from across sectors and disciplines. That way, each episode reflects on a different aspect of the renewable energy transition and sustainable development or provides a new perspective.
The making of each episode requires work behind the scenes by a team of volunteers.People volunteering with YES-Europe are mainly young professionals or students in the energy and sustainability sector, 18-35 years old and based in Europe. The content of the episodes will be shaped by the team members themselves. Episodes will be planned, recorded, and published throughout 2025 and 2026. The Communication Member’s role is crucial in ensuring our content reaches and resonates with our audience.

Being the Communication Member of the Podcast project means:

  • Developing and executing a promotion strategy for each episode across social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube).
  • Creating engaging visual assets (e.g., cover art, social media posts, infographics) for the podcast.
  • Writing compelling episode descriptions, announcements, and newsletters.
  • Monitoring audience engagement and analytics to grow our listener base.
  • Stay up-to-date with current trends, policies, and innovations in the field.

Communications Team

What does a Website & Content Manager do?

Since our foundation in 2016, YES-Europe has grown significantly, and our website (yeseurope.org) is the front door to everything we do — our projects, events, podcast, publications and open positions. In this role you will keep that front door fresh and welcoming. You will own the upkeep of our WordPress site, publishing and updating content, fixing inconsistencies, and making sure visitors always see an accurate, up-to-date picture of YES-Europe.

Being the Website & Content Manager in YES-Europe means:

  • Maintaining and updating the YES-Europe WordPress website (pages, posts, menus, media).
  • Publishing blog posts, press releases and news updates supplied by the team, with clean formatting and imagery.
  • Keeping content accurate and current — events, conferences, projects, team listings, open positions and footer/legal information.
  • Uploading and optimising visual assets and ensuring pages display correctly across devices.
  • Applying basic on-page SEO good practice and reporting broken links or technical issues.
  • Coordinating with the social media, podcast and policy leads so the website reflects what the rest of the team is publishing.

  • Familiarity with basic SEO, image optimisation or page builders (e.g. Elementor) is a strong advantage.
  • A genuine interest in energy and sustainability is essential.
  • Previous volunteering experience in a youth organisation is a plus.

What does a Video Content Creator & Editor do?

Video is how we reach and grow our audience — from our 12,000+ followers on LinkedIn to our community on Instagram. In this role you will plan, create and edit short-form video and motion graphics that bring YES-Europe’s projects, events, podcast and people to life. You will shape how our story looks and feels, primarily for LinkedIn and Instagram, helping our content reach and resonate with a wider audience.

Being the Video Content Creator & Editor in YES-Europe means:

  • Creating and editing engaging short-form videos and reels for LinkedIn (primary) and Instagram.
  • Designing motion graphics, infographics and animated visuals that explain energy and sustainability topics clearly.
  • Producing clips and teasers from our podcast, events, conferences (e.g. Annual Conference, COP31) and interviews.
  • Developing a consistent visual identity for our video content, in line with the YES-Europe brand.
  • Collaborating with the social media and podcast leads to plan video around the content calendar.
  • Staying up to date with current video trends, formats and platform best practices.

What does a Social Media & Content Writer do?

Our words carry our message across Europe. In this role you will plan, write and schedule the content that keeps our channels active and our community engaged — across LinkedIn, Instagram, our blog and newsletters. You will help run our content calendar, craft compelling copy, and make sure YES-Europe shows up consistently and on-brand, several times a week.

Being the Social Media & Content Writer in YES-Europe means:

  • Writing compelling copy for social media posts, captions, episode descriptions, announcements, blog posts and newsletters.
  • Helping plan and maintain the content calendar to keep a steady posting rhythm (3–4+ posts per week).
  • Scheduling and publishing posts across LinkedIn and Instagram, and coordinating post requests from other teams.
  • Monitoring audience engagement and analytics to grow our community and refine our messaging.
  • Working closely with the video, website and podcast roles so copy, visuals and assets line up.
  • Staying up to date with current trends, policies and innovations in the field.

Local Teams

What is a Country Representative (CR) at YES-Europe?

Since our foundation in 2016, YES-Europe has believed in the importance of local communities to take action and engage within the energy field. Strengthened by our international network, our local teams play a fundamental role within the ongoing impact of our network by implementing YES-Europe’s vision locally and shaping the future of their cities, regions and communities

The Country Representative is responsible for organising and leading their Local Country Team, by making sure that the team is being active in line with the mission and vision of YES-Europe and is channelling information from the central organisation to the local teams and vice-versa. With Country Representatives coordinating projects and activities across various European countries, Local Teams are organising events and publishing content to develop national programmes based on their field of interests.

Being a Country Representative for your Local Country Team involves:

  • Organising your Local team, by:
    • Recruiting more members through the membership form
    • Onboarding new members, by informing the Board
    • Building your team and creating a team feeling
    • Organising regular meetings
  • Making sure the team has activities and are organising events, by:
    • Engaging your team members to organise activities
    • “Keeping the ball rolling”
  • Being connected with the central organisation of YES-Europe, by
    • Keeping yourself updated on what’s happening in the organisation (through Discord, emails, General Assemblies, communication with our Governance Team and International Teams)
    • Having exchanges and collaboration with the Country Coordination Team and other CRs (through Discord, emails and monthly CR Meetings)
    • Channeling information from YES-Europe centrally to your team,
    • Enabling sharing of national events in the broader YES-Europe channels
  • Asking the CR Lead and Country Coordination Team for support

  • Knowledge of local energy, sustainability, policy and research topics in your city/country is seen as a plus, but not required
  • Basic understanding of social media management, fundraising/financial management and administration is a plus, but not required
  • Previous volunteering experience in a youth organisation is a plus, but not required
  • Previous leadership experience is a plus, but not required.

What does an HR manager do? Since our foundation in 2016, YES-Europe has grown significantly. Both at the local and international level, new members join the organization throughout the year. You will be responsible for providing a structured onboarding process, and will act as a confidential counselor within the organization.

Being an HR manager in YES-Europe means:

  • Ensuring onboarding documents contain detailed and updated information about YES-Europe, its structure and communication platforms.
  • Organizing onboarding sessions for new members.
  • Managing the membership system (Shared Drives, Discord, etc.)
  • Supporting the organization of biannual feedback meetings

 • Designing and distributing surveys and feedback tools to our network.
 • Managing stakeholder engagement and outreach to ensure diverse community participation.

As the Coordinator, you will be the creative and technical mind behind launching, managing, and maintaining this vital community tool.

Being a Community Map Coordinator in YES Europe means:

 • Managing the community database and ensuring data accuracy (using Excel/Google Sheets).
 • Designing and implementing the interactive map interface with an eye for user experience.
 • Utilizing basic programming/no code mapping tools to keep the map functional and updated. It’s great if you bring higher experience to make it more technical. We would love to know your ideas.
 • Collaborating with the communication team to promote the map and encourage member registration.

It strengthens both the local community and its connections with the professional field in the area, as it brings together students, young professionals, academics and industry. As a Future of Energy Days Manager, you support the local teams in the organization of this event, and act as a bridge between the local and international level.

Being a Future of Energy Days Manager in YES-Europe means:

  • Supporting local country teams and providing them with the right tools for the organization of this event.
  • Collecting and documenting experiences from different local country teams in the organization of previous events.
  • Actively engaging local country teams for the creation of this new initiative.
  • Act as a bridge between the local team and the teams on the international level (communications, finance, country representation, etc.)

What is the Future of Energy Report?

The Future of Energy Report is a series of reports that YES-Europe has produced since 2018. Each report raises various aspects of the renewable energy transition and sustainable development. What makes these reports unique is the inclusion of youth voices and youth perspectives. Not only are the writers themselves young professionals or students in the energy and sustainability sector, but several reports also feature interviews of young people across Europe about topics like energy transition and energy security.

New joiners to the team will begin their work in May/June 2026. The content of the report will be shaped by the writers themselves. The report will be finished and published in early 2027. All writers should be able to dedicate 2–5 hours per week to the project.

Being a writer in this team means:

  • Contributing with text content to the Future of Energy Report 2026.
  • Shaping the theme and content of the report together with the rest of the team.
  • Editing the text together with the other writers, making the report ready for graphical layout.
  • Practicing optimism and seeking constant progress.

  • It is a strong merit if the applicant has already contributed to written reports or taken part in other similar writing projects in the past (at university, with other organisations, etc.).
  • A genuine interest in energy and sustainability is essential.
  • Previous volunteering experience in a youth organisation is a plus.
  • Applicants should be comfortable with writing longer texts in English. However, mastering an academic style of writing is not a requirement.
