2022 marked the European Year of Youth! This year, European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) gathered hundreds of young and passionate people from all over Europe to talk about the future of energy with EU institutions. From YES-Europe, Livia Kalossaka, Omnia Kandil Carla Galea and Rana Mahmoud participated and represented YES-Europe!

A few highlights gathered from actively participating at the conference were: we are facing challenges which cannot be limited to short-term solutions to the current energy crisis. During the first day, we saw Kadri Simson announcing the launch of the Biomethane Industrial Partnership! It is clear that we are a united Europe trying to leverage our natural resources but we need to fasten the permit-granting for renewable energy projects; smart energy communities and the role of youth to accelerate their establishment; ensuring a just transition to protect the poorer. What we would have wished to see more? Industry engagement!
