The Africa–Europe Youth Collaboration Programme brings together young people from Africa and Europe to explore shared solutions for a just and sustainable energy transition. Through cross-continental collaboration, the programme promotes mutual learning, youth-led research, and dialogue on renewable energy and sustainability.
Aligned with YES-Europe’s strategy, the programme strengthens youth participation, fosters Africa–Europe exchange, and builds practical skills for future energy and climate leaders.

🔎 Why This Programme?
Energy transition challenges differ across Africa and Europe, but they are deeply interconnected.
This programme creates a space for youth to:
- Exchange regional perspectives and experiences
- Develop cross-continental understanding of energy transition pathways
- Contribute youth-driven insights to sustainability discussions
- Build lasting Africa–Europe networks
🧩 Who Can Participate?
- Youth aged 18–35 from Africa and Europe
- Students, young professionals, and early-career practitioners
- Anyone interested in renewable energy, climate action, and sustainability
No formal background is required, motivation and openness to collaboration are key.
🌱 How the Programme works
- Apply: Participants are selected through an open call, with attention to regional and gender balance.
- Get paired: Selected youth are matched into Africa–Europe duos.
- Learn from experts: Senior energy and sustainability experts provide mentorship and guidance.
- Research together: Duos collaborate virtually on a chosen energy transition topic.
- Engage & share: Participants join webinars and workshops and share their findings through YES-Europe channels.
