What is this Programme ?
The Programme will pair young professionals in renewable energy and sustainability from Africa and Europe to work together on energy transition projects, fostering mutual learning and collaboration. The objective is to enhance understanding of regional contexts. Participants will gain insights into the unique energy transition challenges and opportunities in Africa and Europe, allowing for a deeper understanding of regional contexts and perspectives, as well as cross-regional approaches towards solutions.

🧩 How does the programme work?
- Apply : Open to youth aged 18–35 from Africa and Europe. No formal experience required — just genuine interest in energy transition and teamwork.
- Get paired : You’ll be matched with a participant from the opposite continent to ensure diverse skill sets and perspectives.
- Guidance from senior experts : You’ll receive mentorship and expertise from senior experts across both continents, carefully selected for their experience in the energy fields related to your chosen topic. Their support will help elevate your research and deepen your understanding of real-world challenges and solutions.
- Research together : Choose your focus — from policy, technology, energy access, gender equity, or finance — and collaborate virtually on a joint research project. The objective is to produce a work that will raise awareness and promote dialogue on energy transition issues among youth in Africa and Europe, fostering a greater understanding of the importance of sustainable energy practices.
- Engage & exchange : Participate in webinars, workshops, and interactive sessions to enhance your knowledge and co-develop ideas.
- Share your findings : Present your outcomes through publications, webinars, and public events — with support from the YES-Europe Operations Team.
