Do you have a strategic mindset towards organisational growth, impact and partnerships?

If this resonates with you, apply to become our new Operations Lead!

What is the Operations Team of YES-Europe?

The Operations Team coordinates all the international Project Teams in YES-Europe that do not fall explicitly under the umbrella of Policy (for which there is a separate Team). These projects are, among others: the COP delegation, the Future of Energy Report, the YES-Europe Podcast, the Annual Conferences and PowerYouth. The Operations Lead is supported by a small team of Operations Managers in carrying out this responsibility of coordinating the already existing projects, as well as planning ahead towards future opportunities for the organisation. Anybody in YES-Europe can propose new project ideas, but ultimately it is the Operations Team which makes the decisions about starting them and, subsequently, following up on their progress. People volunteering with YES-Europe are mainly young professionals or students in the energy and sustainability sector, and must be 18-35 years old and based in Europe. The Operations Lead and the Operations Managers form part of the Governance Team of the organisation.

  • Gaining international youth NGO experience.
  • Experience in shaping the strategic direction of an international organisation.
  • A chance to develop other skills (e.g. team work, stakeholder management) while working in a dynamic (and fun) group of international young professionals and students.
  • Networking opportunities.
  • Opportunity to gain insight in environmental diplomacy, advocacy, international relations, media production (written & audio), youth empowerment, and more through supervision of projects working on such things.

Required Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate should have previous project management experience.

  • Good communication skills, as the Operations Lead will be in contact with external partners a lot.
  • Previous volunteering experience in a youth organisation is a plus. Preferably the candidate should have previously occupied a major leadership role  in a youth organisation.

Please note that YES-Europe’s working language is English, so the successful candidate should have sufficient knowledge in the English language to be able to work in English.
