SUMMARY:Importance of Diversity for Energy Transition
DESCRIPTION:Join our event where we reflect upon the importance of gender equality for energy transition together with prominent women from the industry.  \n\n\nAre you a student or young professional enthusiastic about creating a sustainable future? Do you want to learn about various initiatives by organizations and individuals to promote gender diversity and women empowerment for an inclusive sustainable energy transition? Are you concerned about diversity in your workplace? \nIf you’ve answered YES to any of these questions and we just have the right event for you. \nThis October\, we are hosting an event at KTH Innovation to highlight the issue of Gender Equality in the Energy Industry. Our Guest Speakers are prominent women who have played a crucial role in shaping the energy transition in the Nordics and the rest of the world. \n\n\n\n\nJoin us in person at Teknikringen 1\, KTH Innovation\, Stockholm to learn about the experiences of our guest speakers and network with them. The speaker event will then be followed by a fun case workshop for our audience to reflect upon the challenges towards gender equity and brainstorm the solutions of how they want the future to look. You will also have a chance to network with the speakers and other participants present all while having some snacks (Courtesy: Students for Sustainability and KTH Innovation). \n\n\n\n\nThe preliminary agenda for the event is as follows: \n16:00-16:05: Introduction to YES-Europe \n16:05-16:20: NEEN Report on Gender Equality in the Nordics by \n16:20-16:30: Guest Speaker talk – Ambra Sannino \n16:30-16:40: Guest Speaker talk – Liliana Arevalo \n16:40-16:45: Introduction to Kraftkvinnorna \n16:45-16:55: Importance of Diversity for Energy Transition \n16:55-17:05: Questions \n17:05-17:10: Break \n17:10-17:15: Group formation \n17:15-17:45: Case Study Workshop \n17:45-18:00: Presentation of solutions from the Case Study \n18:00-18:15: Reflections from the Case Study/ Next Steps \n18:15-18:45: Networking + Fika \n\n\n\n\n“Gender equity and environmental sustainability may seem like unrelated issues\, but research shows that they are in fact closely intertwined. Women and other underserved groups are disproportionately impacted by the global climate crisis\, but they are also uniquely positioned to lead the fight for sustainability. Ultimately\, to tackle climate change (as well as the myriad other sustainability challenges that face today’s organizations)\, leaders and individuals must acknowledge the complexity and interconnectedness of these issues — and work to develop integrated solutions that will improve them all. “– Harvard Business Review \n\n\nRegister Now
